How to Feel Zen AF

Many moons ago I attended a few Yoga Nidra classes. But it’s been quite a few years now! I lost a close friend recently & felt energetically pulled back to yoga. Older I get, the less I care about the work out aspect or trying to gain flexibility. I’m often seeking out restorative or calming classes. When I go back to yoga it’s a return to myself & the breath. Reminders during class to breathe help me so much in needed moments of day to day life!

We are all processing an overload of information & feeling more stressed than ever. This seems to be a chronic occurrence within our society & it really revs up during the holiday season. Even when feeling joy at this time, stress of gift giving, parties, & eating more inflammatory foods than ever can do a number on our internal homeostasis. Not to mention this is also a time of loss, feeling of grief & complicated relationship strain for plenty of us!

So I would really love to invite my witches to check out the practice of Yoga Nidra as a soothing balm to your stress & worries. If you’ve never practiced Yoga, have absolutely no fear! The entire practice takes place laying down in a comfortable position in yoga known as savasana (aka corpose pose) Although the name translates to Yogic Sleep, the intention isn’t to fall asleep but to calm the brain into a deep state of relaxation. I’ve read Yoga Nidra is thought to be the original hypnosis! There has been much research done on practice of Yoga Nidra & it’s benefits are so wonderful for us! If you check on YouTube Yoga Nidra there are many free resources to follow & I’ve personally enjoyed a session recently @ Soluna Yoga Studio in Riverside!

Hope this was helpful witches! It’s a really beautiful practice & I’ve found it much easier to implement than some other meditations. Sending you all lots of love & gratitude today & always!

xo,

Katie
